To me, amateur radio is more than an avocation - it is more of a passion. I've been active on the radio bands since 1971, with brief periods of inactivity each time we moved, and a prolonged period in 1996 - 1997 when we built our present home.

The picture was taken in September, 1999 when we raised two towers. You can read more about that here.

I am active on most transmission modes, and particularly enjoy RTTY (Radio Teletype). I have earned RTTY DXCC #1970 and RTTY WAS (Worked All States) certificate #402. My final and most difficult state was North Dakota.

As of January 20, 2009 I have 215 Countries worked, and 182 countries confirmed on RTTY.
