Amateur Radio

Licensing History:

I originally became interested in Ham Radio while in high school , but did not earn a license until I was 24. While living in Irwin, Pennsylvania I earned a Novice license (Callsign: WN3QER) in February, 1971. At that time, novice licenses were issued for a two-year term and were not renewable. I struggled to improve my morse code skills, and in July, 1971 passed the General and Advanced class license tests and then held callsign WA3QER. In November, 1977 I passed the Amateur Extra class theory and morse code requirements, and in January, 1978 received my current callsign K3GP. I am also the trustee for club station K3BAA, The Black Sheep ARC.
