Christmas on Ice

This picture of our house was taken from the end of our driveway on Christmas day. I was fortunate to have my camera with me so I could capture the "crystal palace" look of everything covered in ice. Just a few moments after the photo was taken, the sun was covered by clouds for the rest of the day. The ice layer averaged about 1/4 inch (6 mm) and as a result, the beam antennas on my towers sagged significantly - thankfully, once the ice melted, all antennas recovered undamaged.

2004 Ham of the Year

I was honored to be named the Alliance Amateur Radio Club's 2004 Ham (Amateur Radio Operator) of the Year! With this, I join a substantial list of AARC members who have similarly been honored at the club's final activity (The Christmas Party) each year.
